With over 295 km of marked hiking trails and alpine climbs in the Rauris Valley and 70 kilometers of hiking trails in Taxenbach, the region in Salzburger Land is one of the largest and most diverse hiking areas in the Hohe Tauern National Park. Leisurely hikes across lush alpine pastures to the next snack at one of the managed alpine huts, educational themed hiking trails and challenging three-thousand-meter ascents. Past springs and waterfalls, to real natural jewels such as the Rauriser Urwald, the Rauriser UrQuell or through the Kitzlochklamm, along evidence of the gold mining era and under circling birds of prey, to gigantic views of other mountains. Enthusiastic cyclists and mountain bikers will not miss out here. You can choose from numerous routes. Whether beginners or professionals there is something for everyone. In summer you can take advantage of the many benefits of the National Park Card, which you receive when you stay overnight in one of the National Park Card partner establishments.
